1. What is the MyCBTL App about?
The MyCBTL App, available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store, is The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf Malaysia's official mobile application.
2. What features can I find in the MyCBTL App?
You can earn Bean Points & use them to redeem rewards, place an order for pick up at your preferred café, discover the latest promotions & events, browse the café locator to find the café nearest to you and more.
3. What is the difference between the MyCBTL App & MyCBTL Rewards Program?
The MyCBTL Rewards Program is now available at all participating "The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf" cafés in Peninsular Malaysia, excluding Lot SAT-P-A50, Satellite Building (KLIA) and S1-1A-A02-03 (Gate J), S3-A1-A07 & A08 (Gate K) & S3-2-A09 (Gate L) and Satellite Building (KLIA2).
Setting Up Your MyCBTL Account
1. I have downloaded the MyCBTL App and would like to create an account. What should I do?
Launch the MyCBTL App on your mobile device and tap on "Join us" > "Create Account". Enter your particulars to begin setting up your account. You will need to verify your account using the verification email sent to your registered email address to start using the MyCBTL App.
2. Is there a membership fee to join MyCBTL?
No, membership is free.
3. Is my membership transferable?
No, membership is non-transferable.
4. I would like to change the email address used to register for my account. How can I do so?
Your email address is a unique identifier used for your MyCBTL account. Thus, for security reasons, we are unable to change your email address once your account has been registered.
5. I would like to change my account password. How can I do so?
To change your password, log out of the app and tap ""Join Us"" > ""Log In"" > ""Forgot password?"".
Enter the email address used to register your account and an email will be sent to you.
Tap on ""Reset your password"" in the email and enter your new password.
Your password must:
- Have 8 or more characters
- Contain alphabet and numeric characters
- Contain at least 1 uppercase and 1 lowercase character
- Contain at least 1 special character (e.g. !, @, #, $, %, &)
Confirm to proceed and you're all set. If you do not receive the email within the next few minutes, please check your email account’s Junk/Spam folder.
If you encounter any issues with changing your password, do contact us for further assistance.
6. I would like to change the date of birth in my account. How can I do so?
Tap on “Account”, then tap “Personal Information”. You’ll see a pencil icon next to your “Date of Birth”, tap that to update it with the correct date.
Please note: Birthday privileges are given once a year. If you’ve already received them this year, they won’t be reissued after updating your date of birth.
7. How do I manage my communication preferences?
In your MyCBTL App, tap on ""Account"" > ""Communications"" and ensure that you have your preferred communication channel: Push Notifications, Email and/or SMS toggled on.
If you choose to opt out of receiving communications, we will no longer send promotional emails to you, but you may still continue to receieve non-promotional emails about your account, including notifications on changes to the program or our policies.
About The MyCBTL Rewards Program
1. What is the MyCBTL Rewards Program?
The MyCBTL Rewards Program is a rewards program offered by The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (M) Sdn. Bhd. to customers located in Malaysia.
2. How do I join the MyCBTL Rewards Program?
MyCBTL Rewards is an app-based loyalty program. Simply download the MyCBTL App on your mobile device and sign up for a MYCBTL account.
3. Where are the participating cafes for MyCBTL?
The MyCBTL Rewards Program is now available at all participating "The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf" cafés in Peninsular Malaysia, excluding Lot SAT-P-A50, Satellite Building (KLIA) and S1-1A-A02-03 (Gate J), S3-A1-A07 & A08 (Gate K) & S3-2-A09 (Gate L) and Satellite Building (KLIA2).
MyCBTL Member Privileges
1. Are there any welcome privileges I can enjoy upon registration?
You will receive a "Welcome Drink" voucher upon registration. Additionally, in your first 30 days from registration, you can also earn 3X Bean Points on your purchases. Please refer to the "My Privileges" section in-app for full details.
2. Are there any birthday privileges I can enjoy as a member?
To make your month a little sweeter, you’ll receive a Birthday Treat voucher at the beginning of your birthday month as our gift to you.
Simply check the My Privileges section in your app for full details. To make sure you don’t miss out on your birthday reward, please add your date of birth in the app before your birthday month begins.
Bean Points
1. What are MyCBTL Bean Points?
“Bean Points” are what we refer to as your reward points. You can use your Bean Points to redeem for rewards from the rewards store in app.
2. What are the ways I can earn Bean Points?
You will earn 5 Bean Points for every 1 Malaysia Ringgit (RM) you spend* on purchases made through Mobile Order or in participating cafés, after any applicable discounts but before Sales & Service Tax (SST).
*Excluding tips, charitable donations and delivery fees.
To earn Bean Points for in café purchases, please ensure you scan your Member QR code at the cashier prior to making payment.
You can also earn Bean Points from other bonus campaigns. In the MyCBTL App, simply tap on the purple membership card > ""MyCBTL Benefits"" for more details."
3. I forgot to scan my Member QR Code when making a purchase in café. Can I still earn Bean Points?
Bean Points can only be earned at the time of purchase, so be sure to scan your Member QR code before you pay to collect your points. We want to make sure every visit counts!
4. Is there a cap to the Bean Points I can earn?
There’s no limit to the number of Bean Points you can earn in the MyCBTL Rewards Program. Keep collecting points with every purchase and enjoy even more rewards.
5. How long does it take for Bean Points to be credited to my account?
Bean Points may take up to 30 minutes for them to be reflected in your account.
6. How do I view my Bean Points History?
You can view your Bean Points History in app. On ""Home"", tap on the purple Membership Card at the top of your screen > ""My Bean Points History"".
Please allow up to 30 minutes for your newly earned Bean Points to appear in your Bean Points History.
7. My Bean Points balance appears incorrect. Can I get some assistance?
Please allow up to 30 minutes for your newly earned Bean Points to appear in your Bean Points History. If your Bean Points appears to be incorrect after the 30 minutes waiting period, please contact our customer service team for further assistance.
8. Will my Bean Points expire?
Bean Points earned will expire in 12 months at the end of the equivalent month in which they were earned in.
Example: You earn 50 Bean Points on 15 November 2024 and 200 Bean Points on 25 December 2024.
The 50 Bean Points earned on 15 November 2024 will expire on 30 November 2025, and the 200 Bean Points earned on 25 December 2024 will expire on 31 December 2025.
9. My Bean Points have expired, but I have not redeemed them. What can I do?
Expired Bean Points cannot be reinstated, so be sure to redeem them before they expire and enjoy your rewards while they’re fresh!
10. Can I transfer my Bean Points to another member?
Bean Points are for you and they’re non-transferable, so you can enjoy all the rewards personally.
11. I have Bean Points in my existing TCB card. Can I transfer them to my MyCBTL account?
TCB Bean Points are just for you and are non-transferable, so be sure to use all your points by December 31, 2024, and enjoy the rewards you’ve earned!
Redemption of Rewards
1. How do I redeem rewards?
You can view the list of rewards available for redemption under the ""Redeemable Vouchers"" section in the app homepage.
Simply tap on your preferred reward, ensure you have sufficient Bean Points for redemption, and tap on ""Redeem Voucher"".
2. Where can I view my list of rewards?
Tap on the purple Membership Card at the top section of the "Home" screen in the MyCBTL App. You can view your list of privileges, and find your vouchers in the "My Vouchers" section.
3. What is the expiry date of my rewards?
Each reward has a unique expiry date & time. Refer to your reward voucher in the MyCBTL App in the "My Vouchers" section to view its expiry details.
4. Can I request for an extension for an expired reward?
Voucher validity periods are fixed, so be sure to use yours before the listed expiry date and time. You can check each voucher’s details for the exact expiration, ensuring you don’t miss out on your rewards!
Utilization of Rewards
1. How do I utilize my rewards?
For in café orders:
- Scan your Member QR code
- Let our Brew Crew know that you wish to use your voucher.
If you have more than 1 voucher in your account, please specify the name of the voucher you wish to use
For MyCBTL App orders:
- Browse the menu & add your preferred items to cart
- Tap ""View Cart"", scroll down, and tap on ""Apply Voucher"" to select your preferred voucher to use
- Place your order"
2. Can I use multiple rewards in a single transaction?
Please note that only one reward voucher can be used per transaction, so choose the one that brings you the most value each time you redeem!
3. Can I stack my reward vouchers on top of existing promotions?
Vouchers cannot be used with any existing promotions, offers, privileges and discounts, unless otherwise stated. For more details, kindly refer to the voucher details in the MyCBTL App.
I did not use my voucher and it has expired. Can I request for an extension of the voucher validity?
The validity period of vouchers cannot be extended. Please ensure to use your voucher before the stated expiry date and time. You may refer to your voucher details to find out the exact expiry date and time for each voucher.
The Coffee Bean Card (TCB card)
1. Can I continue using my The Coffee Bean Card (TCB card)?
From now till 31 December 2024, you can still:
- Redeem existing TCB Bean Points from your TCB card.
- Spend the remaining credit value in your TCB card.
Any remaining credit & TCB Bean Points on your TCB card will be retired after 31 December 2024. Please ensure to utilize all your credit & TCB Bean Points by 31 December 2024."
2. Can I still earn TCB Bean Points?
Earning of TCB Bean Points have stopped on 15 July 2024.
3. Can I transfer my TCB Bean Points to my MyCBTL account?
TCB Bean Points are just for you and are non-transferable, so be sure to use all your points by December 31, 2024, to enjoy the rewards you’ve earned!
Mobile Ordering
1. What are the payment options available to me for mobile orders?
We support various payment methods including payment via credit & debit cards and mobile wallets (Apple Pay & Google Pay).
2. Can I place a mobile order but pay at the café?
To place a mobile order, payment must be made via the MyCBTL App.
3. Can I schedule my order for pickup at a specific date & time?
This feature isn’t available just yet, but stay tuned—exciting updates are on the way!
4. I have placed an order. How can I view the status of my order?
To view your order status, tap on "Orders" and select the order you wish to view.
5. Can I make changes to my order after it's been placed?
Once your order has been placed, it goes straight to our café for preparation, so we're unable to make further changes. So double-check to make sure it’s just right.
6. Can I cancel my order after it's been placed?

7. Can someone else pick up my order on my behalf?
For a smooth pickup experience, please show your proof of order when collecting your items. Simply mark the order as ‘Picked Up’ in the app when you receive it. This helps us ensure every order is correctly matched!
8. Will I earn Bean Points for mobile orders?
Yes! You will earn 5 Bean Points for every 1 Malaysia Ringgit (RM) you spend on all purchases made through mobile order, after any applicable discounts but before Sales & Service Tax (SST).
